I know what you’re thinking: “Noelle, I hate running.” It’s okay, I’m no professional either. If you’re stumbled across my blog by chance, welcome! If you’re looking for new places and trails in Gainesville to explore, hike, bike and run, you’ve come to the right place.
My name is Noelle Spencer, and I am a second year political science major from Fort Myers, Florida. Growing up on the coast, I loved to run on the beach. When I moved to Gainesville, however, I had a hard time finding places to escape from the chaotic stresses of campus life.
The idea for my blog began when I realized that there was so many more places to visit outside of everyone’s typical running areas. By taking these adventures and seeing the beauty of Gainesville, I also started running much more. This led to an increase in my health, and I also felt much better about my body image. I have found that running has helped me unwind and relax.
The purpose of this blog is to highlight areas around Alachua County that show students a way to relax. It is proven that finding an outlet not only increases happiness, but also improves a student’s campus experience. This blog is for avid runners or those who just bought their first pair of running shoes yesterday. It is my goal to showcase the unique qualities of Gainesville and all that it has to offer.
So what are you waiting for now? Lace up your shoes, and come run with me.
